‘Youth cell is a good opportunity for young people to meet with each other and also meet with God. This, accompanied with chocolate, sweets and of course donuts makes a great evening where we all have fun!’
This church was started by two young people, and twenty years on young people continue to play a vital role in church life. As well as attending their own groups (details below) they get involved with many of the Sunday teams including hospitality, media, worship, children’s work and compassion. Our aim is to help teenagers find the space to make friends, learn more about Jesus, discover their gifts, and live out their faith in the wider community. We have a dedicated and enthusiastic youth team which is led by Mary Grinham. All youth leaders are subject to child protection procedures including a CRB check.
“I love being in youth. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends, meet with God and just really be able to talk to people about life. Part of being in youth is going to youth cell. This happens once every 2 weeks and it is a great escape from everyday life. Every session I meet with God and I have an absolute blast. I sincerely don’t know what I would do without being in youth. Youth is amazing in every way and it is going to be a sad day when I leave!”
“Fantastic cell tonight as always – so beneficial. I absolutely loved every minute, not that I usually don’t, but tonight was extra special.”
Youth on Sundays (11-14) meets after worship on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday in each month.
Youth Cell (11 +) meets on Friday evenings in Stirchley every two weeks.
You can contact the youth team by sending us an email with ‘youth’ in the subject line.
