“We don’t go to church, we are church!”
Community Sunday is when we do church a bit differently! Instead of meeting centrally for a worship service, we aim to express our faith through gatherings in different locations across the city.
There are a range of events including discussion cafés, social events, music nights, worship gatherings, community service projects, fun days and family trips. Advertised events are open to anyone and can be a great place to bring friends to as they are informal and relaxed.
There are usually at least 3 events happening on a community Sunday though sometimes they happen on the Friday or Saturday of that weekend instead. All the details can be found in our events calendar.
Most events are hosted by one of our Cell Communities. We have cells across the city and many of them cluster together to actively make a difference within their neighbourhood or social network. Whether or not people are part of a specific cell community, we encourage everyone to use the fourth weekend in cells, families or friendship groups to intentionally ‘be church’ wherever they are.
There are five cell communities:-
Bournville – led by Nick & Fiona Harding
Central – led by Dewi & Sue Miles
Infuse (Stirchley Area) – led by Gary & Sarah Wicker
Northfield – led by Steve & Jackie Philpott
Perry Common – Led by Sam & Hannah Miller, Andy & Emma Winmill, Joel & Mel Goodlet
