Paul and Katie have lived with their 4 children in Alexandria, Egypt since February 2005. Alexandria is a city of 6 million people. Previously to moving there, they were part of Vineyard Network Church for over 10 years, serving in various way including being on staff and part of the Pastoral Leadership Team. They then spent some time Beruit, Lebanon; working alongside Lebanese who were
serving those living in refugee camps.
Paul and Katie have set up ‘Peace Initiatives’. It’s aim:- Building relationship and reconciliation between cultures through positive interaction and experience.
“We seek to reduce the trust-deficit between ordinary people in the West
and Middle East, and between Muslims and Christians. We do that by
supporting efforts that build those bridges, such as cultural-exchange
programs, and the study of culture and language”. Paul
Paul has lectured in developing small business and understanding business culture whilst in the UK. He now has a post at a local University where he will be working with 200 students with whom he will share principles like handling conflict and
confrontation in a Godly way. He is also using his experience in to help people to set up viable, profitable businesses that are a blessing to the local community.
Paul and Katie are seeking to live out a genuine faith in Christ amongst
the community in Alexandria. They are seeking with the group they lead
to build genuine friendships, serve the poor and pray that a community of peace will
emerge centered on Jesus.
Teams from the UK go to Alexandria each year to support Paul and Katie in their work. If you would like to know more about how you pray for and support them then contact the Vineyard office.
