Giving
The Bible clearly teaches the principle of giving, and money is just one demonstration of commitment to work and the ministry of the church to which we belong. We want to be a generous people, providing the church with the resources to do things well, as well as to demonstrate God’s generosity outside this church in what we give away. The money we receive is used to fulfill the vision of the church and it is accounted for by the trustees who have legal responsinbility to manage it’s use.
As a church we do not get funding from other agencies but from the generosity of the people who see this church as their home.
The general guidance from the Bible is that “each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Cor 9:7).
The government recognises the unique and positive contribution that charities make to the community. As a charity we can claim tax back from the government on any gift you make (if you are a taxpayer). To download a giftaid declaration form click here.
