Compassion

meal2

As followers of Jesus, we aim to reach out and serve the poor and broken in society, sharing God’s message of love with compassion and generosity. A big part of this is to care and share with the poor, and we currently do this through a number of different ministries.

Satur8
Satur8 is a place for those who feel isolated to find friendship and encouragement to grow in faith. Satur8 meets for a meal together on the first Wednesday of each month and in a cell group on the third Wednesday of each month in Network House. We have an enthusiastic team of people who cook, serve, clear up, chat and help people every month.

Christians Against Poverty (CAP) – Debt Counselling
For several years we have partnered with CAP to show God’s love in action by providing sustainable poverty relief through debt counselling, advice and practical help. Our CAP centre is managed by Mark Woolnough who works with a team of volunteers to support those who are in debt and empower them to help themselves out of poverty and the associated burden of fear.

There are lots of ways you can get involved in the work of our CAP centre, whether this is praying, helping the people we work with in a practical way (decorating a room, or transforming a garden) or even buying someone a birthday present or baking them a cake.  If you would like to be involved on a more regular basis then you might consider becoming a support worker and accompanying Mark on visits to clients.

To contact our CAP centre call Mark on 0121 622 1922 or send him an email.

For more information about CAP see their website www.capuk.org

Foodbank
We collect supplies of non perishable food at our services which we distribute to those in desperate need.

If you would like to get involved in any of these ministries, or you would like further information, please send us an email starting the subject line with COMPASSION.
